Blood Drive to Honor Fallen Mahwah Firefighter

Mike Drozd, who was killed in a 2008 car accident, was a regular blood donor.

This Sunday, Mahwah Fire Company 1 is giving locals an opportunity to help others while honoring the memory of a late township firefighter.

The Company 1 Blood Drive is held each year in memory of Mike Drozd, a longtime Mahwah resident, volunteer, and blood donor who was killed in a 2008 car accident.

This Sunday, residents are invited to the firehouse on Miller Road between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to donate to Community Blood Services. Simultaneously, the firehouse will host a food drive, and will be collecting nonperishable food items to donate to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah.
