Fundraiser Raises Money In Honor of Late Firefighter

Event at the Mahwah Bar & Grill Wednesday will raise money for the NJ Sharing Network.

A group of Mahwah residents planning to walk in a charity 5K next month in honor of a late Mahwah firefighter is hosting a fundraiser this week to support the NJ Sharing Network.

Team I Am Drozd!,’ is planning to walk in the NJ Sharing Network’s 5K this June in memory of late resident Mike Drozd, who was killed in a car accident in 2008.

The Network promotes organ and tissue donation, which Drozd was a proponent of.

At last year’s 5K, for the Sharing Network.

So far this year, the team has raised $1,600. This Wednesday, May 22, the group will be at Mahwah Bar & Grill from 5 to 10 p.m. for a 5K fundraiser. A percentage of all of the meals sold during the time period will be donated to the cause.
