Outing Honors Humanitarian, Raises Money For Valley Hospital Foundation

Annual Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce event was held in Tuxedo Park, NY

The Tuxedo Club, an exclusive country club and golf course, provided the upscale backdrop for the ’s biggest fundraiser of the year Monday.

The 21 st annual MRCC Golf Outing and Dinner honored David Bolger as the ‘Humanitarian of the Year.’ President of the Bolger Foundation, the philanthropist has helped raise over $75M in donations over the past 12 years. According to a release from the Chamber, the foundation often donates to charities working with healthcare, disadvantaged youth, churches, seniors, mental health programs, conservation and education.

As honoree, Bolger decided the recipient of the funds raised at this year’s outing – the Valley Hospital Foundation, which supports Valley Hospital.

Over a hundred MRCC members gathered Monday night to acknowledge Bolger’s philanthropic efforts, and engage in fundraising activities like a tricky tray raffle.

According to MRCC Executive Director Sharon Rounds, the annual event has been known to raise a significant amount of money for its recipient organization.  Last year, the Golf Outing raised $30,000 that was donated to the Center for Food Action, she said.
