"Support Our Troops" At MB&G Thursday

Mahwah Marine Moms host fifth annual fundraiser

The Mahwah Marine Moms are asking residents to help fund their activities through the end of the year by attending an annual fundraiser at the Thursday.

During the sixth “,” 10 percent of all dinners purchased at MB&G between 5 and 10 p.m. will be donated to the volunteer group of moms from across North Jersey with children serving in the armed forces. The moms work to “send a little bit of home” to those serving overseas.

“This is the fifth year in a row that Craig [Kunisch, MB&G owner], has done this for us, and we are so grateful and excited for the event,” Terry Wendrychowicz, MMM founder. “A lot of the moms’ friends and family members, and a group of teachers from the Mahwah schools will be coming, so it should be really nice.”

The money collected from the event will help pay for shipping costs associated with sending care packages overseas, she said. Before the year is out, the moms plan on sending packages of leftover Halloween candy they have collected, and woven hats and other winter accessories.

“We’ve also been crafting like crazy,” Wendrychowicz said. The moms will also be selling their “” Thursday night for $3 a piece.
