As the owner of the only dollar store in Mahwah and the surrounding area, Parimal Patel has happily served the community since 2003. He is very proud to provide books to many of the area's school libraries. I am giving the Dollar Planet 3 stars. My first visit there was great, I would've given them 5 stars based on that, but I had to go in a second time and my experience was not the best.
I went there today to get some goody bags, small gift bags and some shipping envelopes. The store was pretty organized and I found everything very easily. I went to the register to pay and was helped by I assume the owner of the store. He greeted me when I set my things down, smiled, very good customer service. I paid with my credit card and left. Great Experience! :)
I realized I forgot a few things, went back in about 10 minutes later. I got what I needed, but this time there was an older woman at the register. She told me my total, which was under $10, I gave her my credit card and was told me there was a $10 minimum. There are no signs anywhere stating that, nor is it listed on this website, which I visited before going to the store. At first I thought I didn't have any cash, I told her that. She kept repeating, "$10 minimum" and wouldn't ring me up. Well I was lucky I found a $5 in my purse. I just thought that was extremely rude, I was just in there minutes before, she had seen me in there and I had spent a good bit, then I come back and she was either not going to take my transaction or make me purchase $10 worth of items.
That's why I'm giving Dollar Planet 3 stars, other than the rude woman, my overall experience was great! :)
