The Mahwah Fire Department is made up of more than 200 volunteers committed to serving the community. These volunteers are split into five separate companies that serve separate sectors of the township. In order to make sure that all emergency situations can be assisted, the companies are divided by specialty. Company Number Five, the tanker operations unit, is located on Stag Hill Road in Mahwah. Those interested in volunteering in the township's fire department should call for more information or attend the weekly training and inquiry meeting.
