Why does the Bergen Record show Tedesco losing?
Joseph M. Gerace (Editor) November 6, 2013 at 12:31 pm
@Mei: If yr reading in print, it's likely because they had to go to print before 100 percent ofRead More precincts had reported in with the county clerk. With ±70 percent reporting, Tedesco was trailing the closest Republican candidate; when 100 percent had reported Tedesco was up by 73 votes. But keep in mind, 73 votes is a paper-thin margin of victory. When official numbers come in from the clerk's office we may find the results have changed again. (We're not likely to hear the final word from clerk until early next week.)
Mei Wan Sum November 6, 2013 at 01:16 pm
Mitchel has 89125 to Tedesco's 88687 and looks to be declared the winner according to the Record.

This has nothing to do with my likes or dislikes of Mr. Laforet. I have hatred for no one! JustRead More thought you would know how to spell his name.
Mona Lot November 8, 2013 at 05:37 am
D'Angelo no way will you be the attorney for the town no matter how far you bend over for your boy,Read More let me enlighten you Laforette = Laforet,Faroret=Laforet at least have someone proof read your comments,I do believe if the election was today your boy would be another loser.
John P. D'Angelo November 8, 2013 at 07:14 am
Mona Lot You don't get it and you never will. First at my age , I would be too old to considerRead More being an attorney. Secondly, sure the Mayor supported Marcus and the election was about a council member filling an unexpired term of John Spiech who retired . We were not voting for a Mayor and you chose to interject him in your comments. Thirdly, f you believe that the Mayor is doing a poor job, be specific so he can hear you and possibly address your concerns. Lastly, all I was doing was to analyze the election and I'm sure that the Wong votes would have been a toss up between the 2 leading candidates. 5000 votes were cast in the township and only 4500 cast votes for the council members. Another reason for uniformed or disinterested folks or simply maybe the total ballot sheet was too long and confusing. You see I do do my homework. Did you? Additionally, I have no problem in posting my full name because I am not ashamed to voice how I feel

Think Twice November 7, 2013 at 08:12 pm
@Eileen: Exactly what political experience do you have to act like the know-it-all? The truth isRead More that young leaders are often more ambitious and less corrupt than their older counterparts.
mahwahwian November 7, 2013 at 10:03 pm
Actually the candidate is 22, a degree in finance from Ramapo. I understand he owns an ice creamRead More store in Palisades Center and got his Real Estate license the year he graduated HS. He is on the ball in my book.
Thunderbird Pride November 7, 2013 at 11:58 pm
mahwahwian: I think you are mixing facts. Marcus is the Ramapo College guy. Wong graduated CUNY thisRead More past May. He lives with his welathy parents in Rio Vista. I suspect his "businesses" are provided to him by his parents. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a smart young man, but by his own admission, he really doesn't have any experience with town issues, budgets or even how town government works. What I heard from him was that he has a young perspective and will work real hard to learn what a coucilman does. No offense, but I don't want someone learning on the job how to handle a $30M budget.
Mahwah Dad November 8, 2013 at 01:45 pm
Wow that is really odd to campaign for an office that you are running unopposed.
Hyman Roth November 8, 2013 at 03:09 pm
All of you sound like a group of third grade girls on the playground all whimpering because you wereRead More not invited to the popular kid party on Friday night. The answer is easy man up and run for The Board.
Mahwah Dad November 8, 2013 at 03:45 pm
Hmmm, I wonder which Board of Ed member Hyman Roth really is? Any guesses?
Rocky November 6, 2013 at 09:18 am
Can't believe Buono got as many votes as she did. Still proves what NJ is. Either way she can goRead More back to being her nasty self now. Good riddance, BB, won't have to look at that smug mug on TV anymore.
Leon Kirshtein November 6, 2013 at 09:53 am
Pretty much as expected, Mahwah votes Republican and the alternative was pretty .... blah.
Gov. Chris Christie cast his ballot Tuesday morning in Mendham Township.

dearest building 7 one thing i am not is cocky about praying to get to heaven. believe me when iRead More tell you yes i know i am a sinner and pray every day for the sins to be forgiven of my youth and continue thru today..did not mean to come off that way
Spooner December 17, 2013 at 11:26 pm
Well Linda, I believe he's quoted in the Bible as saying "render unto Caesar", or to putRead More it another way: obey the law?? I find it hard to accept Jesus being an Anarchist...
Building Seven 2001 December 18, 2013 at 10:18 am
Whoever deleted my comment (probably Keith Brown) is a fucking godless heathen worthy of eternalRead More life in flames. Censorship was practiced under such communists as JOSEPH STALIN and ADOLF HITLER, and is a practiced by those who fear the overwhelming and obvious Truth. A few people on this website obviously cannot emotionally deal with the fact that this Truth has been communicated to me long before this website was even in existence, and that it is my DUTY to further communicate this Truth to all who I come in contact with. Keith Brown is obviously not a servant of the Divine, otherwise he would not be scared of me spreading the Word of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He is a fornicator and a creator of false idols, similar to the thousands that were killed at Soddom and Gomorrah. God hates these COMMUNIST ATHEISTS who worship falsehoods and spread lies and deceit. As a Christian Conservative and servant of Jesus, my voice WILL be heard by the masses, and no amount of SOCIALIST CENSORSHIP will ever be enough to silence the Truth! Keith Brown, you would do good to repent your sins and undelete my Truths, for the public needs to know why God has blessed me with His Gift. As for Jesus being an anarchist, that is complete and utter blasphemy and is only COMMUNIST propaganda. Don't believe this slander; it only ends in the fires of Hell. Heretics like Obama and Mandela may think this, but that does not mean that is TRUE. Weigh your options, the fire, or heaven. This reminds me of Matthew 12:31-32, "Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."

Three cheers gaswhale you hit it right on the head,I wonder if the owners of the Sunoco station (itsRead More company owned) no that its being used as campaign headquarters by the mayor?

Kathy: Who are you supporting?
Gavrilo Princip November 5, 2013 at 08:43 pm
I really hope Wong wins. That will drive all of you crazy.
Rob Hermansen
Gavrilo Princip November 4, 2013 at 11:56 am
Didn't that politickernj.com story from March 2012 include the quote in its entirety?:Read More '“I’m not endorsing anyone,” said Christie, reflecting on the coming scrum Thursday night in the big northern building block county. “I ran with Rob Hermansen on the same ticket,” the governor added. “I like Rob a lot. I have nothing but nice things to say about him, but that is for the people and delegates in Bergen county to decide.”'

Richard Levine October 29, 2013 at 12:34 pm
Am I correct that I heard at least two of the candidates say that they would lower taxes, not justRead More keep it under a CAP? Unfortunately, there is no control over the BOE spending.
Mahwah Dad October 29, 2013 at 01:27 pm
Richard there is control over the BOE spending, run against them then vote them out.
Hank October 29, 2013 at 07:33 pm
According to factcheck.org Mr Hermansen's statements are true. Also you asked on another thread ifRead More Mr Wong really worked at Summer Rec. factcheck has verified he did.
Cory Booker.
Innocent Bystander October 18, 2013 at 07:58 pm
Looks like the "under-46%" town-group's on a power-trip. Will Cory still use his policeRead More scanner in DC, to threaten NY Chuck's reign as the current Senate King of Publicity? Keep all that hope and change coming.......
mahwahwian October 18, 2013 at 09:49 pm
Huh?
JP October 18, 2013 at 09:58 pm
This is an excellent article to read whether you vote Democrat or Republican. It explains a lotRead More about what's going on in the minds of the Tea Party people and why they do what they do and why they don't care if you care that they do it. Fear and loathing in the good old USA. http://tinyurl.com/mhabgj5

JP October 17, 2013 at 09:25 am
He won because the majority of people are sick of attitudes like yours Mona. Radical Republicans areRead More NOT going to rule our lives and control how people live.
StupidlyHappy October 17, 2013 at 11:16 am
He won because the majority of people are too ignorant to know that our country is going down theRead More toilet. The majority of people want something for free - take care of me please. Whatever happened to personal responsibility? That went out the door when social programs were introduced by our government. Once you get assistance the government controls you. I am all for charity and donate willingly to good causes but I am against forced charity that are collected by threat of punishment called taxes. JP is right though, radical republicans will not rule our lives - both parties already do. When will people learn that government is not the solution to our problems, they are the problem.
