My god. There are a lot of people suffering in this world.

Daniel, you were in the right place at the right time, definitely a selfless and heroic act fromRead More where I sit. I wish this young woman well and hope she sees that strangers do care about her and that her life is valuable.
Macko D April 15, 2014 at 01:24 pm
Tee and Chris - both well said. Thank God this woman has another chance to see the good in herselfRead More and in life.
Declan Harrison April 15, 2014 at 06:57 pm
#Whoisleadingus?? How does that video clip in any way bolster your original suggestion of makingRead More phones inoperable when in a car exceeding 10 mph? I think you've had another one of those impulsive thoughts.

Why is this placed at someone else's door? Where is personal responsibility? SOme people grow up inRead More crappy families, or have horrific pasts and don't succumb to a drug addiction. I really think part of the problem is not having a strong support system behind you and the glamorization of drugs in the entertainment media.

Ken Barber April 14, 2014 at 12:32 am
I wonder what Sanchez was charged with when the police took his photo. And....... why did they letRead More him free ?

How about the nearly $500,000.00 POLICE OVERTIME !!! The people responsible AKA ( police chief JamesRead More Batelli and Best Buddy Our Mayor Bill LaForet ) Do the math people that's almost $10,000.00 a week. Two council members thought to vote "NO" to the budget because they didn't get an extra $50,000,00. Are you kidding me !!! What a JOKE!!!
John Santaella April 10, 2014 at 12:03 pm
Two comments here. One: the headline; what is non-aggressive car-jacking when one say's 'please mayRead More I have your car'? Two, 'car-jacking went wrong'. I think 'failed' car-jacking is more appropriate. Glad the woman was not hurt.

Mona - First off, I was poking some fun at this which is why I used LOL. Second, you are probablyRead More the last person on Patch who should be giving such advice. How about practicing what you preach? LOL
JJ April 8, 2014 at 07:42 am
That's Great, More officers from the Bergen County PD should be certified ! This way the Presence ofRead More the Officer makes the people at the event feel more comfortable but also lets the officials at the Event know that an crowd Issue's it will be handled by a professional, As well as someone in law enforcement, to up hold the law. [ Or at least we think }
GayReagan88 April 8, 2014 at 10:39 am
Each officer should Carry a pocket bible and the ability to provide judgement and sentencing onRead More site. We would have less sinful parasites; poisonous creatures bred into ignorance by their neglectful parents. Maybe our officers should gain more experience and knowledge than waste their time rotting their minds with sports and other vegetating activities. This town is beyond salvation, I can only hope those with hindsight can absolve themselves through the edifice of catholisim and Christianity. Praise be Jesus, may he strike down all those who worship false prophets such as "Little Wayne" and Glen beck. When the rapture will squeeze the sin and hate out of all our souls, Vishnu will ascend the mountain of time. She will take the form of Kalki and you rapist, democratic, fascist slime.
GayReagan88 April 8, 2014 at 10:41 am
Will feel the pain of the sins you have committed. Kali Yuga will end swiftly, prepare.

Another gapping whole in the SSdisability system where payments are handed out like candy forRead More "head" injuries to perfectly healthy recipients who are looking for an easy payout.
Tee Smyth April 4, 2014 at 11:01 am
I respectfully disagree, Barbara. Payments are not handed out like candy in theRead More "SSdisability" system for "head" injuries. It is actually quite difficult to be found disabled.

I wonder how and if this will be included in the so-called low crime statistics of this town. CanRead More someone tell me????????? If they might fight with the police, what might they do to citizens?
Hank March 29, 2014 at 08:45 am
If you are a citizen don't stop a car at 3am let the police do it.
Rocky March 30, 2014 at 06:00 pm
This only proves that police should hve appropriate back up when making a car stop. There is no suchRead More a thing as "routine". Unfortunately these buffoons will face a very loving judge that will put them back out on the street to continue the havoc, after all that is all they know. Too bad the police can't use Louisville Sluggers once they become combative. Oh that's so harsh. NOT

It's a joke. Do comments on the patch have to "relate to the topic?" Is this writtenRead More anywhere?
RB March 29, 2014 at 04:14 pm
DD No, but perhaps it should be. Stay on topic, otherwise what's the point. Post anythingRead More wherever you want. Hey, how about those Knicks!
DD March 29, 2014 at 04:18 pm
As this story is related to major back-ups and there is another story related to major back-ups itRead More would be pretty easy to make the case that the joke (another reminder) is related. If the subject of the the joke was not related to this story, it would not have been funny. As far as your question of "what's the point" it's pretty obvious that there is very little value in comments on the Patch on the whole.

Dan P April 5, 2014 at 09:50 pm
The TMZ video I just watched showed what it looked like to be Ray Rice pulling his drunk fiance outRead More of an elevator. He may have been mad at her and had a fight with her but I doubt he had intent to severely harm her or I'm sure she would be in critical condition right now. I am not a football fan or a Ray Rice fan.... I'm just calling it like it is.

What a great guy... too bad it ain't like the old days when the cops can take an CHOOCH like thisRead More and tune him up and give him what he deserves. Instead the system is more worried about the CHOOCH. That's liberalism.

For the record, body parts were not randomly/individually flying around. Secondly, I think theRead More person responsible for the title of this article, should be reprimanded and owes this family an apology.

BTW, not for nothin, but did anyone notice that the New Brunswick Patch header is a pic of a trainRead More bridge with the saying "New Brunswick, the healthcare city" just above the headline One Dead, Three Injured by Body Parts in New Brunswick Train Accident. OMG, they are just too funny.
William McCaw
Gordo K March 26, 2014 at 05:21 pm
Lousy reporting. No mention whatsoever as to how or why they've charged this guy.
FIMF the ll March 26, 2014 at 05:36 pm
From NBC news: Middlesex County prosecutors said Timothy Puskas, 38, is being charged with murderRead More for the death of William McCaw, a 22-year-old Kean University student who was found Feb. 15 outside a New Brunswick home. He died of blunt force trauma, authorities said. Prosecutors did not elaborate on what allegedly happened between Puskas and McCaw, but a spokesman said the preliminary investigation indicated they did not know each other.

I am a volunteer firefighter in a wealthy Bergen county township, I have being volunteering for 5Read More years now and have training on the state and federal level. My town has a 100% volunteer fire department and a 100% ambulance corps. Each are very very dedicated, trained well, and are well respected throughout northern NJ for our services. However the biggest issue is man power during working times due to the fact we work jobs out of the area (I work at a hospital in central jersey). At any given time during the day you can have 2 guys show up to a call or 15, its hit or miss. Night time and weekends that's a different story because people are around. Same thing with our ambulance corps, they have a duty crew but if the duty crew is on a run when something else comes in during the day odds are another rig isn't getting out. Going 100% paid wont happen due to the fact that it would be too much money to pay to staff a fire truck and ambulance 24/7. However another option to look into is having a half paid half volunteer fire/ems department. You can have 2 FF/EMTS on a fire engine and a paid EMT driver on the ambulance during the day supplemented by volunteers. An example is if you have a Fire Alarm you already of a driver and FF on the Fire engine and now the first vollies come in you roll the truck 2-4 minutes faster due to the staffing at the fire house. Another example you now have an EMS ca,ll ambulance goes along with a fire engine with its FF/EMTS on it so now you have 3 EMTS on scene ( 2 from the fire truck 1 from the ambulance) and the vollies can also respond to help package and transport the patient. I feel that most of the state will never be paid but with the growing population in the state and the lack of volunteering in the emergency services I can see a half volunteer half paid happen. But this is just my opinion for my own town....Cheers

Albert, there's a million ways to accomplish this "problem" being cost effective, but manyRead More politicians are afraid to go up against the "institution"
Lucretia B March 29, 2014 at 10:48 pm
I'd like to see volunteer firefighters and first aid squads be required to get the training it takesRead More to be a professional while on call. I know of one first aid squad who make the ride to the hospital something like a "family affair", and believe me, if youre the patient lying in the back of that truck in pain....then all you need is a bunch of conversation between two teenage girls. But yeah.....I think towns should pay for these things.
