Les Paul Tribute Concert This Weekend

The Les Paul Trio will perform its second annual tribute to the late inventor and musician

The following is a release from the Mahwah Museum. The Les Paul Trio – Lou Pallo, John Colianni and Nicki Parrott– will perform the Second Annual Tribute to Les Paul at the Russ and Angelica Berrie Center for the Performing Arts at Ramapo College this Saturday, September 29 at 8 p.m.  The concert will benefit the Music Program at Ramapo College and the Mahwah Museum.   For 40 years, Lou Pallo performed with the legendary Les Paul, the inventor and jazz guitarist who lived in Mahwah for 50 years prior to his death in 2009.  Pallo, a resident of Haskell, New Jersey – who was a mainstay of Les Paul’s Monday night performances at the Iridium in New York – is an accomplished guitarist and the star of  “Thank You, Les” a CD/DVD Set featuring …

Les Paul Celebration To Help Reopen Mahwah Museum

Museum updated exhibit with new displays and planned 'Les Paul Trio' Tribute Concert while it was closed

At the Mahwah Museum the popular exhibit “Les Paul in Mahwah” opens again on September 8 and continues until June 2013.      Visitors to the Les Paul exhibit have a chance to learn about Les Paul, long-time Mahwah resident, inventor, musician and self-taught engineer. The exhibit also has several new items, making another visit a must for those who have already enjoyed “Les Paul in Mahwah.”   “ECHO,” an M. Hohner harmonica used by Les Paul during the early years of his career is a new feature of the display.  Continuing as part of the exhibit is “The Log,” a fascinating visual of how a solid body guitar was built.  On Saturday, September 29, the Mahwah Museum and Ramapo College will sponsor the Second Annual Les Paul Tribute Concert at the…

Remaining "Les Paul Trio" Members To Play Tribute Concert To Benefit Mahwah Museum Exhibit

Tickets are on sale now, and expected to sell out

The remaining members of the “Les Paul Trio” are putting on a benefit concert at Ramapo College in Paul’s honor this September. According to the Mahwah Museum, Bucky Pizzarelli and Lou Pallo were good friends, and playing partners, of Paul’s. The group performed together at the Iridium in NYC almost until the end of Paul’s life. Now Pizzarelli and Pallo are coming to the legendary guitar maker’s homeland to pay tribute to his life’s work.   The concert will be held at the Berrie Center of Ramapo College at 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 24.   It will act as somewhat of a kickoff event for the Les Paul in Mahwah exhibit at the Mahwah Museum, which begins the next day.
