Mahwah Bowlers Win First League Championship in 18 Years
The girls varsity team had a better season record than any other team in its league
It’s been nearly 20 years since Mahwah bowlers were named the best. A group of five Mahwah girls just broke the mold. The High School’s Girls Varsity Bowling Team was recently crowned the champions of the Patriot Division in the Big North Conference. The team finished the season with an impressive 49-7 record, the best of any team in its league. According to the team’s coach, Jim Dalessio, 2013 marks the first time the Mahwah Girls Bowling Team has nabbed the title since 1995. “It’s awesome, I’m so proud of them,” Dalessio said. “They won because they all did it together.
