Ridge Roadwork Not Expected To Impact Back-To-School Traffic
But, repaving will shut the road down toward the end of the summer
Roadwork on Ridge Road should not affect back-to-school driving, Township Engineer Mike Kelly said at a town council meeting last week. The repaving of Ridge Road, which houses four of the Mahwah School District’s six schools and the Public Library, is the major component of the township’s 2012 Roads Program. Preparatory and concrete work should start on the road by the end of this week, Kelly said. The road should remain open to traffic during this process, which should take about a week or so, he said. The road will, however, be closed to thru traffic during the actual repaving period, which should take place the week or two before school is back in session. Yeah!!! Now I won't have to get my tires realigned every few months from all the pot holes. The cars takes a beating on Ridge Road, especially if you travel on it a couple times per day.   more ›
