Where to Celebrate St. Paddy's Day in Mahwah

You can pick up everything from a corn beef-topped burger to a green mint-Oreo milkshake in Mahwah and Ramsey this weekend.

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here, and local establishments will be celebrating all weekend. Here’s a list of some of the specials you should look for in and around Mahwah this weekend.  The Shannon Rose The Irish restaurant and pub is starting the celebration early, with St. Paddyfest beginning Thursday. Local Irish band The Connolly brothers will be performing from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, and be accompanied by drink specials. The eatery is also offering St. Paddy’s Day 2013 shirts, and a special price on them to all of its Facebook fans. All week long, check Mahwah Patch to help get you ready for Super Bowl 47. If you’re not up for cooking cocktail weenies, ordering pizza, and hosting a group of screaming fans on your living room couch, consider watching the big game at these Mahwah restaurants: Boom Burger: It’s the restaurant’s first Super Bowl in Mahwah since opening last October, and it is celebrating in a big way. Oktoberfest Celebration Saturday

Proceeds from the event go to the CAPS Cares Foundation, which benefits Autism programs in local schools

This weekend, a charity version of an Oktoberfest celebration is coming to Mahwah. CAPS Cares is a non-profit that supports special programs for students with autism in Bergen and Rockland County school districts. The all-volunteer group has hosted fundraisers throughout the region since its founding in 2010. Over the past two years, the organization has purchased iPads, dvd players, specialized classroom supplies, small appliances, OT/PT/Speech therapy materials, a mobile listening cart, water slide and other recreational toys, community outings and class trips, laminating equipment and more for local Autism programs. Mahwah Bar Could Have Liquor License Suspended After Underage Drinking Arrest

One Mahwah teen was arrested after allegedly assaulting a detective at the Mason Jar.

The Mason Jar’s liquor license could be suspended after one person was arrested and three others were cited there last weekend on charges related to underage drinking, a release from the attorney general’s office said. According to the release, one Mahwah teen was arrested early Friday morning on underage drinking and aggravated assault charges. Victoria Gorham, 19, allegedly kicked and punched Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control Detective Tammy Siano during a countywide enforcement sweep, the release said. Siano did not require immediate medical attention, but did suffer bruising on her legs, authorities said.
