Residents Voice Concerns Over 'Pamela and Craig Goldman River Retreat' House

Chai Lifeline continues to testify before the Zoning Board of Adjustment for a variance for their retreat at 1058 Ramapo Valley Road

Homeowners on Ramapo Valley Road confronted representatives of the Chai Lifeline retreat about its location in their residentially-zoned neighborhood. At a public hearing on the issue at the Dec. 15 Board of Adjustment meeting, residents who share a driveway with the Lifeline building voiced their objections to the complex, which temporarily houses families with children suffering from diseases. Concerns hinged on dangers associated with an influx of unfamiliar people and drivers coming to the area, and the concern that granting a variance could set a precedent that may affect other Mahwah communities.
