Report: Mahwah Resident Steps Away from Politics After Convention Loss

Incumbent Holly Schepisi and Old Tappan Republican municipal chairman Bob Auth won the Republican bid for District 39 Assembly seats, report says

Former Mahwah Councilman and Bergen County Freeholder Rob Hermansen said he is stepping away from politics for “a while,” after losing a bid for a seat on the state assembly Saturday, NorthJersey.com reported. Current Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi and Old Tappan Republican municipal chairman Bob Auth won the Republican Party bids at a convention Saturday, the report said. At the convention, Schepisi secured 210 of 250 votes, Auth had 152. According to the report, Hermansen got only 107. Hermansen also lost his bid for reelection to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in November. He was running to replace an Assembly seat vacated by current Assemblyman Robert Schroeder, who was indicted by a grand jury on charges of stealing money from loaners …

Mahwah Politician Preps for Republican Convention with Hometown Fundraiser

Former Mahwah councilman and Bergen County Freeholder Rob Hermansen is running for a State Assembly seat in District 39

Mahwah resident Rob Hermansen, one of the six people vying for the Republican nomination for an open District 39 State Assembly seat, prepared for the upcoming Republican conventions at a hometown fundraiser Wednesday night. Hermansen, a financial advisor who served as a Mahwah councilman from 2006-2009 and Bergen County Freeholder from 2009 through January, said he is looking forward to the conventions, despite a somewhat contentious run for the nomination so far. Hermansen’s decision to run for a seat vacated by current Assemblyman Robert Schroeder, who was indicted by a grand jury on charges of stealing money from loaners and writing bad checks, came after he was approached by “a lot of prominent people,” in the Republican Party late …

Former Bergen County Freeholder Rob Hermansen plans to run for his party's nomination for an assembly seat, reports say

A former Mahwah Councilman and ex-Bergen County Freeholder plans to run for the Republican nomination for a state assembly seat in the 39th District, reports said Wednesday. According to a NorthJersey.com report, Rob Hermansen, who served as a Mahwah councilman before he won a seat on the Bergen County Freeholder Board in 2009, announced Tuesday his intent to replace Republican Assemblyman Robert Schroeder, who is under indictment. Schroeder “so far has resisted calls from party leaders to step down from the Assembly, where he has served since 2010,” the report said. “An indictment issued on Dec. 21 accuses him of stealing $1.89 million from five people who lent him money for a business venture and with writing 47 bad checks to 12 …
