Lady T-Birds Net Big Win, Ready for More
A mid-season update on the Mahwah Girls Basketball Team
After an upset victory over one of the toughest teams in the league last week, the Mahwah Girls Basketball team is poised to enter the second half of its season strong, new coach Alan Clements said Wednesday. “In the second game of the season, RiverDell beat us,” Clements said. “So, for us to come back and beat them [in a game last week] was big.” The Lady T-Birds upset RD 44-35 on Jan. 17. The team knocked the Hawks down from an impressive 12-1 record. And, after another win against Cliffside Park this week, the Mahwah High School team has improved its record to 10-4. “We had a few bumps early on in the season,” Clements said. “But, we don’t run a summer program, and most of these other schools do.
