Mahwah to Celebrate Chanukah with Public Menorah Lighting

Event will happen one day after the township's annual Christmas tree lighting.

Mahwah will be hosting back-to-back holiday celebrations next month.

One day after the township's annual holiday tree lighting, it will host its annual menorah lighting, the Chabad Jewish Center of NW Bergen County announced in a release Friday. 

The group released the following details about the lighting:

The Mahwah Town Hall Menorah lighting and Chanukah Celebration will be held on Monday, December 2 at 6 p.m. with the participation of Mayor Bill Laforet and local officials. This program is free and open to the entire community.

In addition to the menorah lighting, participants will enjoy lively entertainment, hot Chanukah refreshments, glow-giveaways and children’s Chanukah crafts in the senior center. 

Chanukah begins this year on November 27, one day before Thanksgiving.
