Report: Ex-Pastor Sentenced in Second Underage Sex Case

A Mahwah pastor convicted of having sex with underage sisters added 10 years to a sentence he is already serving, report says.

A former Mahwah minister who is serving eight years in jail for having sex with an underage member of his church will now serve an additional 10 for sexually assaulting her underage sister, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, Curtis Franklin, 48, did not comment when Superior Court Judge Edward Jerejian handed down the sentence Friday.

Curtis, a former assistant pastor at Mahwah’s Full Gospel Church, was convicted in two separate sex assault trials, the report said.

The first found Franklin guilty of having sex with a girl when she was 12-years-old and he was in his 30s, NorthJersey.com reported.

The second found him guilty of having a sexual relationship with her sister, who was 15 when prosecutors say it started in 2002, the report said. He was previously sentenced to eight years in that case, reports say.

Franklin was also sentenced to lifetime parole and will be registered as a sex offender when he is released from prison, the report said.
