Bergen Bike Tour, Half-Marathon Top Weekend To Do List

Long list of weekend activities in and around Mahwah. Did we miss something? Add it to the list!

It’s going to be a busy weekend in Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes, with several events happening each day. Check out a run down of things to do below.

Saturday

Mahwah Day

Mahwah Day is Saturday! The annual town-wide celebration is happening Saturday. It kicks off with a parade at noon. The town recently sent an email blast detailing some of the events to look out for at Mahwah Day:

As always, we will have kiddie rides, pony rides, live entertainment and plenty of games for the children. Don’t miss Sprinkles the Clown at 1pm, Outreighisss Pets at 2pm, Mark Dacey, family entertainer and everyone’s favorite Dog Show at 3pm. This year we have a special appearance by Will Shawat 5pm. Will has performed his amazing juggling/ comedy show on Sesame Street, the Late Show with David Letterman, the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and under the big top with the Big Apple Circus! Of course, food will be available throughout the day and the Township’s Access Transportation buses will be available to shuttle visitors to and from the Lincoln Tech parking area off Island Road. Be sure to stop by the Mahwah Marine Moms tent and the Center For Food Action tent and drop off a donation. A list of their needs will be on the Mahwah Day flyers and ads. Be sure to come back at6pm to rock out with our live band, The Mighty SPECTRUM, and stay for the amazing fireworks display at 8pm.

Country Fair

The Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat is hosting its 48th Annual Country Fair at Wyckoff’s Memorial Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday. According to a recent release about the event from the ECCR, this year’s fair will include games, electronic rides, pony rides, paint a pumpkin, make your own scarecrow, food, a live DJ, and over 80 local vendors selling arts, crafts, clothing, jewelry, and more.

Oktoberfest Festival

The first annual St Elizabeth's Church Oktoberfest Celebration is happening from 7 to 11 p.m. at St. Elizabeth's Field in Wyckoff. Celebrate this exciting fall festival with your neighbors and enjoy authentic German Food, Local Fare, Beer, Wine as well as Non Alcoholic Refreshments, Fun and Friends.

Saddle River Carnival

The traditional carnival is happening Friday and Saturday. The Ferris wheel, mini-coaster, scrambler, other rides, games, and eats will ensure a fun time for the whole family.

Sunday

Bergen Bike Tour

The Bergen Bike Tour will kick off from Darlington County Park in Mahwah Sunday morning. The Tour benefits the Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center and the Volunteer Center of Bergen County. In addition to the 50-, 25- and 10- mile routes for cyclists of every level, TD Bank will sponsor a Kids' Ride at the event.

Franklin Lakes Scenic Half-Marathon

The Wyckoff YMCA and Franklin Lakes Mayor’s Wellness Campaign are putting on the borough’s first-ever Scenic Half-Marathon. The inaugural event starts at 8 a.m., with check-in scheduled for 6:15 a.m.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Franklin Lakes Mayors Wellness Campaign and the Wyckoff Y's Pietro Maugeri Fund, which helps families navigate and survive the financial challenges of critical illness and injury.

Circus

The Franklin Lakes Lions Club is hosting the traveling Zerbini Circus on Sunday at McBride Field in Franklin Lakes. The show includes acts and events for kids and adults. There will be pony and camel rides also. 
Shows under the big top start at 1, 3, and 5 p.m.
